The 20th IET International Conference on Developments in Power System Protection
DPSP Global 2026
2 - 6 March 2026 | London, UK
Over 200 power system protection engineers attended DPSP Global 2026 – the 20th edition of the conference.
A packed week of learning and connection started with a full-day tutorial on driving the change in power system protection, followed by three days of peer-reviewed technical papers, interactive panels, networking activities including the conference dinner, and 15 sponsors and exhibitors. The week concluded with a technical site visit to National Grid St John’s Wood Power Station and the London Power Tunnels.
Attendees heard insight from thought leaders including National Grid, NESO, RTE, Stedin, ElectroNet, Georgia Tech, Northern Powergrid, Landsnet, SPEN, Rabobank, and ESB International.
Major topics debated during the week included grid protection in response to the continued increase of renewable sources, the digitisation – and potential virtualisation – of substations, the importance of Inverter-Based Resources (IBR), fault location, what can be learned from recent incidents, and the top challenges facing power system protection engineers today.
