Applied IQ (AIQ) is a collaboration between leading engineers in the European power industry. The INSIGHT range of products and software is the result, and these redefine what is achievable in addressing the challenges of a modern distribution network. The key initial element of AIQ’s design approach has been to engage with, and deeply understand, global customer needs and thereby fully capture the problem to be solved.

AIQ focussed on customers’ fundamental requirements to enhance the Safety, Reliability and Efficiency of networks in a cost effective and dependable way. From this brief, AIQ designed and developed the L700 System for network monitoring and fault location, the M700 for emerging fault analysis and the S700 for sensitive earth fault detection. 

In order to meet customer challenges, AIQ developed high earth fault sensitivity >10kΩ supported by synchronised data of better than 1µS resolution, all packaged in robust and reliable product designs.
