Discover one of London’s largest transmission substations and go behind the scenes of the city’s energy network! St John’s Wood Substation is fully connected via underground cable circuits operating at 400,000 volts, offering a unique opportunity to see high-voltage electricity in action.

What to Expect:

  • A guided tour of the state-of-the-art substation, led by National Grid experts.
  • Optional access to the London Power Tunnels, a remarkable underground network 42 metres below street level (249 steps!), deeper than the London Underground, where cables carry power across the capital.
  • Approximately two hours of immersive exploration, witnessing the scale and complexity of London’s electricity infrastructure.
